The junior research group MathOpt has been founded in October 2008 and is headed by Dr. Sebastian Sager. It is embedded in the Heidelberg Graduate School of Mathematical and Computational Methods for the Sciences.

MathOpt Group

Its main focus is on the application driven development of optimization methods, and their efficient implementation on computers. This comprises nonlinear and integer optimization, as well as optimal control. A specialization is in numerical algorithms for mixed-integer optimal control.
