"Mathematical and Computational Optimization"

Home

The research group MathOpt has been founded as a junior research group in October 2008 and is headed by Prof. Dr. Sebastian Sager. It is both located at the Institut für Mathematische Optimierung, Fakultät für Mathematik, Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg and embedded in the Heidelberg Graduate School of Mathematical and Computational Methods for the Sciences (HGS MathComp).

MathOpt Group

The group's main focus is on the application driven development of optimization methods, and their efficient implementation on computers. This comprises nonlinear and integer optimization, as well as optimal control. A specialization is in numerical algorithms for mixed-integer optimal control.
